When is it OK to abuse your food-service provider while promoting education? The answer: Thursday, March 4, 2010. It's the one day when abuse, harassment and education will have something in common.

            Skip's Restaurant will be hosting a Cabin Fever celebrity dinner on Thursday, March 4, 2010, at which local "celebrities" will serve as waiters, waitresses and bartenders to benefit the Harbor Country Chamber of Commerce Scholarship and Education Fund, formerly known as PET.

            Abuse and harassment of celebrity servers will not only be allowed, it will be strongly encouraged. But guests should be aware that celebrity servers are also encouraged to play along and hand out their own abuse to their customers. All celebrity tips received that evening will be donated to the scholarship and education fund.

            The evening will be full of hyjinks, fun, entertainment, a silent auction and raffles. All auction and raffle proceeds will benefit the scholarship and education fund, as well.

            Those attending the celebrity dinner as guests will have an opportunity to test the food-service skills of New Buffalo Township Supervisor, Rose Dudiak, New Buffalo City Councilwoman, Migs Murray, local actor and appraiser, Kevin Murray, Chamber of Commerce Treasurer, Marlene Kramer, Casey's Bar and Grill owner, Tom Jennings, Customs Imports owner, Dee Dee Duhn, Topp Press co-owners, John and Margaret Anderson, Prudential Rubloff realtor, Debbie Jacobson and Four Winds Casino Hotel Manager, Hassan Abdel-Moneim.

            Cost to attend the celebrity full-spread buffet dinner is $20 per person. The fun begins at 6 p.m.

            The Harbor Country Chamber of Commerce Scholarship and Education Fund has been awarding scholarships to local high school students for more than two decades.
